The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide has risen to more than 56,000 in the past day - WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in its daily bulletin on Tuesday that more than 56,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection have been registered worldwide in the past day.


As of January, there were 69,708,115 corona virus cases and 1,940,352 corona-related deaths worldwide. In the last 24 hours, the number of confirmed infections has increased by 56,17 and the number of deaths has increased by 9,361.


WHO statistics are based on officially confirmed data from countries.


North and South America account for more than 54% of COVID-19 daily statistics (309,06). It is followed by Europe (183,540) and Africa (25,493).
